Geneva (6 August 2013): The Secretariat of the Precious Metals Convention has received a letter of intent for accession to the Convention by Serbia. The original letter, signed by H.E. Mr Mladjan Dinkić, Minister of Finance and Economy of the Republic of Serbia, was received on 25 July 2013.
The next step for Serbia will be to submit an official membership application, which will be assessed in line with the Guidelines for Accession of the Standing Committee (SC). In the meantime, Serbia enjoys the status of an Observer (i.e. Applicant State) and its representatives may attend all SC meetings.
